Reason 8: AKKA is Safer

Safety is our number one priority in all our schools. AKKA is safer than most schools in three ways.

First, our instruction is safer because the lessons are age and level specific. Schools that combine too much of an age range like 5-12 or 13-50 are either unsafe, unchalleging, or both. Same goes for classes that have advanced levels combined with beginners. More advanced students can easily and unintentionally hurt the beginners simply because they have forgotten what it is like to be a beginner and may be too intense. Combining classes with too wide a range of age and/or level is simply unprofessional and you need to seriously question the competence of the instructor.

Second, our facilities are safer because we have invested a significant amount of capital into equipment such as floor matts, heavy bags, and striking Shields. Since Martial Arts is a dynamic activity, falls are common. This is why you do NOT want to have yourself or your child training on hard flooring. Our lobbies are safer for spectators keeping the spectators separate from the students. Many schools have the training floor flow right into the lobby which is very unsafe especially for younger children.

Third, for our more advanced students, we have a high standard for safety equipment used by the students. We have all the students use the SAME quality of gear. This creates a consistency of safety among the students. I know this must sound so basic but believe me, this is very, very uncommon. In most cases, instructors have the students buy the cheapest, lowest quality gear they can get. Some instructors have the students share gear with is completely unsanitary and unsafe. Some do not require gear at all!
